In 1916 Robert was at the Big Brook Mill as a mill hand In Subdivision of Nelson, Division of Swan, Tasmania
Joined the Military on 31 Oct 1916 when he was 25 years and 3 months and had natural brown hair and was a labourer. His father was Denis Lockley of Adventure Bay, Bruny Island and he was living also at Adventure Bay. He was discharged medically unfit in December 1916.
Robert married Rita Kathleen FYLE. (Rita Kathleen FYLE was born on 20 Mar 1911 in Tasmania.)
