bullet  General Notes:

After George was born in 1911 in East Ballarat Reg No 16488, William did not stay around much longer and so Annie lived alone. George spent a lot of his time in Melbourne with his step sister's Ethel's family and was great mates with Ron Burgis, Ethel's son.

In 1936 George Alexander Taylor was living at 317 Ascot St South Ballarat and was a rail employee. At the same addres was Norma Elaine Taylor home duties.

At one stage Norma and George were having marital problems and Billy lived with Jack and Flo Woods for a while.

George sat for the rail examination and became a station porter at Caufield then Serveston. He became a shunter and then a senior shunter at the Melbourne Yards before being promoted to a suburban train guard.

George and Norma lived in Pascoe Vale South in Reynolds St as I recall between Bell St and Raynard St. It was a well kept weatherboard home in a Californian Bungalow style. It had a trellis gate at the sideway.

Norma was very good to George particularly toward the end of his life.
