William TAYLOR

On his wedding certificate M.C.No 7090, East Ballarat, Vic he did not know his parents as he was a ward of the State. He was 41 years old and living at Black Hill, Ballarat, Vic. The wedding was at 48 Steinfield St at the site of the Ballarat Lawn Mission.

After George was born in 1911, William did not stay around much longer and so Annie lived alone. The story is that he was miss treating Annie and her sons Leslie and Jack Woods kicked William Taylor out of the house. He was last seen running up Black Hill. George, William's son, spent a lot of his time in Melbourne with his step sister's Ethel' family and was great mates with Ron Burgis, Ethel's son.

William married Ann (Annie) WOOD, daughter of Never MARRIED and Elizabeth WOOD, on 26 Aug 1908 in 48 Strinfield St, Ballarat East, Vic. (Ann (Annie) WOOD was born on 5 Nov 1868 in Ballarat East, Vic, died on 17 Apr 1923 in 20 Sherrard St, Ballarat, Vic and was buried on 18 Apr 1923 in New Ballarat Cemetery.). The cause of her death was Bronchitis, Heart Failure.
