My father's father, my grandfather, David, whom I knew well, was born on 5 April 1800, he married Catherine Jones, grandmother who died in Wales leaving a family of 7 sons and 1 daughter, the children's names being : Thomas, John, David, Willaim (my father), Evan, Joseph, Richard, and Mary (Mrs. Isaac Hopkins). Of Aunt Mary I would say she had a lovely nature and was a good woman. Uncle Evan was killed in a Coal Mine in South Wales when a young man, the other sons and daughter came to Australia and I knew them well.
