bullet  General Notes:

Jonas Goulding in the England and Wales, Civil Registration Index: 1837-1983 birth registered Jul-Aug-Sept 1880 at Gainsborough, Lincolnshire Vol 7a Page 754.

By the 1891 census, John Goulding was still living in Walkerith Rd at the village of Morton in the rural Sanitary District of Gainsborough in the Parliamentary Division of West Lindsey and the Ecclesiastical District of St Paul's. Their address was given as Walkerith Rd. Another son had appeared, John, who was presumably absent in 1881. Also George had either left home or died. In this survey, Frank Bernard Goulding had been born and was living with them and was listed as Frank B., son, 7 yrs, Scholar, and born in Morton, Lincolnshire. Also in the household was Ann Goulding 2, Twins David and Jonathan 7 months, John Goulding 14, Jonas Goulding, Lucy A Goulding 9, Mary Goulding 12, wife Sarah A Goulding 37, Sarah J Goulding 19 and Walter Goulding 5.

In 1901 Jonas appeared to be in Lincolnshire living with his widowed mother.

It appears Jonas went to South Africa and was married to Alice Julia Thomas a widower (born Teager) until she died in 1945.

During 1921 there were three court cases recorded in the National Archives vs Theodore Panagos, the estate of Theodor Baptiste and the estate of theodor Panagos. There was also a case in 1926 vs Martin Coetsee. There was also an exparte Application in 1945.

Jonas re-married out of community or property with a antenuptial agreement for 400 pounds to Catharina Alleta Magdalina Britts(born Oberholzer) a divorcee. The antenuptial agreement was dated 1 May 1945 less than a year after Alice died. However he had already written a will on 20 January 1945 in favour of Catharina making her the sole and universal heir and appointing her executrix. So there was a further 1041 pounds for distribution on his death to Catharina as per his final will.

His death certificate indicates he was builder and lived at 14 Fairfield Rd, The Hill, Johannesburg prior to his death. His second wife, Catharina, was present at the Hospital when he died and he left a surviving minor daughter, Carina Goulding.
