Buried - 13 Oct 1925, Melbourne Cemetery. Born - London, England; 70 years in Victoria. Married - in Hotham, age 24 years, to John Ansted. Issue - none (?? refer Dorothy Thorn notes).

* N.B. Ellen was buried in the Ansted Family plot in Melbourne General Cemetery - i.e. Comp. N, Grave No. 278, Church of England.

Also Ellen Ansted, who died 12 Oct 1925, aged 72 years.
*N.N.B. Ellen did have two children (Dorothy and Harold Turner Ansted), but they were to William Turner Ansted (relationship unknown). Dorothy's (later Thorn) B/C did not include her father's name, but both her M/C and D/C recorded the said William Turner Ansted and that is what I have included here. I realise that it is probably not correct.

My Mother, Mavis Burgis, wrote " To my knowledge the boys (Sewell Nelson Burgis and Horatio Arthur Burgis) never heard from or saw the older step sisters." I know that my cousins and I never met this side of the family as children despite being in contact with most of the Jones and Wood descendents.

Ellen married John Nelson Lavender ANSTED, son of Jeremiah Smith ANSTED and Mary Anne LAVENDER, on 28 Mar 1878 in St Marys, Hotham, Vic. (John Nelson Lavender ANSTED was born in 1823 in London, Middlesex, England, died in 1886 in Flemington, Vic and was buried on 23 Sep 1886 in Melbourne Cemetery, Vic.)
